IONA Artistic Director Cheryl Flaharty has created a visual and visceral masterpiece featuring 25 dancers, LED video screens, and interactive digital animations. Vibrant contemporary dances detail our playful relationships with domesticated animals and the need for stewardship of wild animals, while fresh produce – literally tossed on stage, examines our growing interest in whole foods.
IONA’s new education program places high school students elbow to elbow with professionals in a learning-feedback platform that connects the arts to the real world. Students follow the production of Dominion though rehearsals to the stage, with immersive sessions in dance and choreography, marketing, technical production, costume building, and arts administration.
